Who we are

Square For Freelancers is an independent referral service operated by ProVantage POS [confirm the full registered entity name — e.g. "ProVantage POS LLC" — as it appears on your Texas business registration] (“we”, “us”), an authorized Square partner based in Denton County, Texas. We are a mobile operation and do not keep a public trading premises. We are not Block, Inc. or Square, and we are not acting on their behalf.

If you have a question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights below, email travis@provantagepos.com or call (817) 601-7368. We answer to the same person either way.

What this site collects

This website does not have a signup form or a customer account system. In normal use it collects very little:

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, your card number, bank account details, Social Security number, or any password. If you need to give that information to open a merchant account, you will enter it with Square directly, never with us.

Where your information goes

If you ask us to set you up, we pass the details you gave us to Square in order to make the referral. From that point, Square's own privacy policy governs the information you provide to Square, including anything you enter during their application. We do not control and are not responsible for how Square handles it.

We earn a commission when someone signs up through our referral. That commission is paid by Square, not by you, and it does not change the pricing you receive.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone other than Square and the service providers listed below.

Cookies

As written, this site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. If you later add analytics, ad pixels, or call tracking, this section and the disclosures above must be updated, and depending on your visitors' location you may also need a consent banner.

How long we keep things

We keep the details from a referral conversation for as long as needed to service the referral and to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations, then delete them. Hosting logs are retained on our provider's standard schedule.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing travis@provantagepos.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights. Residents of California and several other states have specific rights of access, deletion, correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. We will honour a request from any state on the same terms rather than making you prove where you live.

We operate from Texas, so the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act is the state law most likely to apply to us. [To confirm with counsel: the TDPSA carries an exemption for small businesses as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration, but that exemption does not extend to selling sensitive personal data without consent. We don't sell data at all, so the intent here is to comply either way — but confirm whether the exemption applies to you before relying on it.]

Children

This site is for business owners and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
